Os acidentes de trânsito em Porto Velho: uma epidemia que afeta o desenvolvimento regional

Resumo
O trânsito faz parte de todas as atividades da sociedade e vem cada vez mais deixando prejuízos a todos, onde seus impactos são ainda maiores nas capitais do Brasil, que vem se alastrando como uma epidemia das áreas urbanas que tiram muitas vidas e deixam inúmeras seqüelas em toda a sociedade. Assim, o presente estudo tem por objetivo apresentar o perfil dos acidentes de trânsito em Porto Velho/RO, assim como as influências negativas que o mesmo tem no desenvolvimento sustentável. A pesquisa é qualitativa, fundamentada em pesquisa de campo e contém uma análise estatística e georreferenciada dos dados coletados junto às instituições de trânsito, tendo-se como resultado que os altos índices de acidentes de trânsito no município é um problema sócio-econômico e de saúde pública. Conclui-se que para diminuir seus efeitos, torna-se necessário se aprimorar as políticas públicas, focando-se maior atenção ao sistema Homem - Trânsito.

The traffic accidents in Porto Velho: an epidemic that affects the regional development

Abstract
The transit is part of all the activities of the society and comes each time more leaving damages to all, where its impacts are still bigger in the capitals of Brazil, which comes if spreading as an epidemic of the urban areas that take off many lives and leave innumerable sequels in all the society. Thus, the present study it has for objective to present the profile of the traffic accidents in Porto Velho /RO, as well as the negative influences that the same have in the sustainable development. The research was qualitative, based on field research and contains a georeferential statistical analysis of he collected data in the normative and executive institutions of transit, having itself as resulted that the high indices of traffic accidents in the city are a partner-economic problem and of public health. Concluding that to diminish its effect becomes necessary to improve the public politics, dedicating bigger attention to the system Man - Transit.
