This article analyzes territorial transformations and their impacts on the urban heritage and cultural landscapes of the municipality of Naviraí-MS, within the context of agro-industrial expansion in the borderlands of Brazil’s Central-West region. Through a critical approach, it investigates how agribusiness territorialization processes have led to the fragmentation of the urban fabric, the creation of functional peripheries, and the decharacterization of historical areas, thus compromising urban memory and local identity references. Based on documentary, cartographic, and iconographic analyses, the study reveals how the productivist logic of agribusiness imposes new spatial dynamics that silence consolidated practices and memories, reinforcing the urgency of public policies that integrate urban planning, heritage preservation, and territorial justice. The case of Naviraí-MS highlights a scenario observable in other cities in the region, marked by the advancement of agro-industrial frontiers over pre-existing urban territorialities.
