The environmental changes caused by the current economic development model are increasingly ineffective when they promote climate, economic, political and social crises. Sustainable rural development based on agroecology promoted by family farmers is an alternative to this production model. This article aims to identify the process of formation of the first Social Control Organization (OCS) in Amapá as a participatory strategy for climate resilience. The methodology used was exploratory and explanatory, structured with interviews and systematic observations. As a result, the research concludes that organic certification is feasible and necessary for the rural family reality of the state, as long as it is supported by technical assistance and rural extension.
